Perry Holmes was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana after police, responding to a call involving another individual, entered Holmes’s house and found drugs and drug paraphernalia inside. After the trial court denied his motion to suppress the items seized from his home, Holmes entered a conditional plea of guilty to the three charges; he then appealed to the court of appeals, and that court reversed his conviction.
