Cedric Russell appeals his conviction in the Hinds County Circuit Court of one count of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and his sentence, as a habitual offender, to two terms of life in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) without the possibility of parole or probation.
