OPINION
CANNON, Justice.
This is a personal injury case. Appel-lees, James and Diane Shuttlesworth sued appellant, Exxon Corporation (“Exxon”) for injuries sustained by Mr. Shuttlesworth while working at an Exxon refinery. The case was tried to a jury which apportioned negligence at 51% for Exxon and 49% for Shuttlesworth. The jury also awarded $1,400,000.00 to James Shuttlesworth and $100,000.00 to Diane Shuttlesworth. The trial court entered judgment on the verdict and Exxon now appeals.
