JERRE S. WILLIAMS, Circuit Judge:

The Celotex Corporation appeals a jury verdict awarding compensatory and punitive damages to eighteen plaintiffs for injuries caused by exposure to Celotex’s asbestos-containing products. Celotex directs its primary challenge toward the amount of punitive damages assessed by the jury. The claim is that the damage awards are excessive and violate provisions of the United States and Texas Constitutions.
