Cabret, Associate Justice.
The biological mother of L.O.E and N.M.F. and her same-sex partner appeal the Superior Court’s denial of an adoption petition seeking legal recognition of the partner as co-parent of the minor children along with the biological mother. Because the Superior Court misinterpreted the adoption statutes in denying the *658petition, we vacate the Superior Court’s order and remand for further proceedings.
