LOGAN, Circuit Judge.

This diversity case commenced as one for wrongful discharge, breach of contract, and slander under Kansas law. The appeal is from the district court's order granting defendant General Motors Corporation’s (GM) motion for summary judgment on all counts. See White v. General Motors Corp., 699 F.Supp. 1485 (D.Kan.1988). Plaintiffs, Frederick Lawrence White, Jr. and Benjamin L.
