This is an action for retaliatory discharge in which Leigh Palmer appeals the district court’s order of dismissal for failure to state a claim upon which relief may be granted.

For the purpose of this appeal we accept the facts as stated by Palmer. Palmer is an experienced medical technician who was working in a medical laboratory in 1986 when Gary Coulter, executive vice-president of Associates in Family Care, P.A., (AFC) recruited her to administer AFC’s in-house laboratory.
