This is an action to recover a sum due on á certain promissory note executed and delivered by Adams, Choate & Co., “per Geo. D. Rainsford.” Thomas B. Adams, Edward C. Choate, Minerva M. Peters and George D. Rainsford were sued as copartners 'doing business together under the firm name and style of Adams, Choate & Company. George D. Rainsford alone of the defendants answered, although it appears all were served with the process of the court. The other defendants were in default.
