This is an appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the superior court convicting him of the offense of violating section 634 of the Penal Code, declaring it unlawful for any person, between the 10th of September and the 16th of October of each year, to have in his possession, or to sell, any fresh salmon.
1. It is urged that the superior court has no jurisdiction of the offense. The punishment provided for the offense is a fine of not less than two hundred dollars, or imprisonment in the county jail not less than one hundred and fifty days, or both. There is no maximum limit provided for…
