—This cause is a proceeding in mandamus, originally instituted in the court of appeal of the second appellate district, wherein the petitioner prayed for and was granted a peremptory writ of mandate directed to and commanding the defendants, as the board of public works of the city of Los Angeles, to enter into a contract upon behalf of the city with the petitioner for the performance of certain public work.
