The petitioner, a national banking corporation, heretofore paid to the county treasurer of Sullivan county, taxes imposed upon the issued and outstanding shares of its capital stock, such payments being made pursuant to the provisions of article 2 of the Tax Law of the State of New York, as amended by chapter 897 of the Laws of 1923. Under said law the said shares of stock were taxed for the years 1923, 1924, 1925 and 1926, and petitioner paid to the county treasurer as such taxes the following amounts on the following dates: $559.23, January 16, 1924; $617.55, January 2, 1925; $708.45,…
