Christianson, Justice.

This is an action by an infant plaintiff against two railroad *95companies, the Great Northern and the so-called Soo Line.2 Plaintiff seeks to recover for injuries sustained by him when he crossed the right of way of the Soo Line and entered the right of way of the Great Northern, where a Great Northern railroad car ran over his right foot and leg. In the court below, plaintiff secured a verdict of $50,000 against both defendants. From separate orders denying their motions for judgment notwithstanding the verdict or a new trial, both defendants appeal.
