Appellant Edwin O. Ware IV (“Ware”) sued his former employer, CLECO Power (“CLECO”), alleging that CLECO had discriminated against him on the basis of race and had terminated him in retaliation for his complaints about racial discrimination, in violation of Title VII, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-2 et seq. (“Title VII”), and La. Rev.Stat. § 51:2256. Ware’s complaint also contained claims for intentional infliction of emotional distress, and for violation of Louisiana’s Whistleblower Statute, La.
