LANCE, Judge:

The appellant, Jerry G. Dalton, appeals through counsel a May 12, 2004, decision of the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (Board) that denied service connection for residuals of a back injury, and denied entitlement to an effective date earlier than June 20, 2000, for the assignment of a 70% disability rating for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with major depression and a total disability rating based on individual unemployability (TDIU).
