This action was instituted by plaintiff to recover from the defendant the sum of $5,743.13 alleged to be due from said defendant for - earned premiums on certain policies of public liability and workmen’s compensation insurance issued by plaintiff in which defendant was named as the insured and for charges made by plaintiff for the execution of a considerable number of bid bonds and contract bonds for and on behalf of defendant.
