Plaintiff-appellant Roland C. Feichtner appeals from the trial court’s order which granted summary judgment to six of the defendants in his wrongful death action. The facts relevant to this appeal are set forth below.

On the night of April 13, 1991, at approximately 11:15 p.m., appellant and his wife were in their vehicle proceeding south on Interstate 77 (“1-77”) in the city of Cleveland. 1-77 was at the time being resurfaced by Kenmore Construction Company (“Kenmore”).
