[1,2] These cases were argued together. They are appeals from two orders of deportation separately entered after a joint hearing. Chinese Exclusion Act, 27 Stat. 25; 28 Stat. 7. Two questions are raised. The first is one of law, “Does the Chinese Exclusion Act apply to a Chinese person who claims American citizenship by birth?” We dispose of this question by mere reference to the adjudged cases, which conclusively establish that a child born in the United States of Chinese parents domiciled in the United States, becomes, at the time of his birth, a citizen of the United…
