On August 28, 1985, defendant Alan Crain was indicted in Wood-ford County circuit court for theft (over $300) of a trailer. On November 4, 1985, defendant pleaded guilty to theft and was placed on probation for 30 months. On February 19, 1987, the State filed a petition to revoke probation, alleging that on January 23, 1987, defendant had been found guilty of theft in McLean County. On March 16, 1987, at the hearing on the petition, defendant stipulated to the McLean County conviction and the court found the allegation proved.
