CHAVEZ, Chief Justice.

{1} Defendant Orlando Torrez directly appeals his convictions of first degree murder, shooting at a dwelling or occupied building resulting in injury, and tampering with evidence; charges arising from the shooting death of Danica Concha at a Halloween party in 2003.
