Plaintiff La Vera C. Brown brings this federal question suit against her former employer, Defendant The Institute for Family Centered Services, Inc. (the “Institute”), and her former supervisor, Defendant Phil Epstein. Plaintiff asserts claims for discriminatory discharge based on race and sex and discriminatory pay practices based on sex, all in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (“Title VII”), 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000e, et seq., as amended; and tortious interference with contract under North Carolina state law.
