On February 9,1932, plaintiff filed his complaint in the district court of Multnomah county, Oregon, to recover the possession of certain household goods. He alleged ownership, a description of the goods and their value at $254.80; that he was entitled to the immediate possession thereof; demand; the wrongful detention by defendant in Multnomah county, Oregon, and prayed for a return thereof, or, in case of inability to deliver, for judgment for their value, and costs and disbursements.
