This appeal by the defendant Maynard Heilman comes to us in the context of a claim by plaintiff Alfred K. Greene, a real estate broker, who asserts he was wrongfully deprived of commissions due him on the sale of a shopping center owned by Heilman to I. Gordon Realty Corporation. Greene had been invited to procure a buyer for-the property by the defendant Richard E. Driscoll. A central issue is the applicability of the agency doctrine of apparent authority in determining whether the codefendant Driscoll’s arrangement with Greene was binding on Heilman.…
