The employer in this case, The American Radiator and Standard Sanitary Corporation, employed men belonging to one Committee for Industrial Organization union and three separate American Federation of Labor unions. The employer had labor contracts with both the C.I.O. union and the A.F.L. unions all of which expired on February 1, 1946. All these unions were negotiating with the employer for a renewal of their contracts. Each organization had its own independent bargaining unit.
