This appeal involves the interplay of the doctrines of res judicata and collateral estop-pel within the confines of admiralty jurisdiction. Empresa Naviera Santa S.A. (Empre-sa) appeals the decision of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Broderick, J., entering summary judgment against Empresa in personam following a judgment in rem against a vessel chartered by Empresa.
