Kilday, Judge:

The appellant was convicted by general court-martial of premeditated murder under Article 118, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC § 918. His conviction and sentence to life imprisonment has been approved by intermediate appellate authorities. We granted accused’s petition to consider whether:(1) The law officer erred in his instructions on insanity.(2) The board of review erred in denying appellant a new mental examination.
