More than a century ago, the owner of a lot of ground in the City of Philadelphia, situate on the south side of Locust Street, plotted two alleys through a part of it, one 10 feet wide and 134 feet long, extending from Locust Street southward between lines respectively 100 feet and 110 feet west of 8th Street, and the other 9 feet wide extending westwardly 87 feet from the end of the first named alley to Darien Street.
