This is an appeal from the district court’s denial of Edward Giacinto Buti’s motion to suppress evidence.

BACKGROUND

Late on the morning of November 7, 1996, a man (later identified as Buti) rang the doorbell at the Deeg home in rural Power County. Mrs. Deeg was the only person home at the time. Because she did not recognize the man and because she was not expecting anyone, Mrs. Deeg did not answer the door. From a window, she observed the man walking away from the house.
