These cross-appeals are from an order dated February 27, 1991, granting plaintiffs motion for a new trial following an inconsistent jury verdict. 1 In the appeal docketed at No. 585 Pittsburgh 1991, Sewickley Valley Hospital (“SVH”), the defendant in this medical malpractice action, contends that (1) the trial court abused its discretion by granting a new trial; and (2) the new trial, if upheld, should be limited to the issue of liability.
