This is an appeal from a judgment in favor of plaintiff for the sum of $2,386.77 which represents the balance owing for work performed in clearing and leveling land on property leased by the defendant. The defendant has appealed from the judgment.
Defendant is the lessee of a 700-aere ranch in Tehama County which is operated as a dairy farm. Plaintiff owns and operates equipment used in the clearing and leveling of land, and he approached defendant for the purpose of inducing him to permit plaintiff to clear and level additional land on the ranch.
