*500¶1 Cashmere Valley Bank (CVB) filed an action against Terry B. Brender to collect on a promissory note and recover the collateral pledged to secure the loan. In response, Mr. Brender alleged several counterclaims and affirmative defenses, including: (1) violation of the federal Truth in Lending Act (TLA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 1601-1667f; (2) violations of the Washington State Consumer Protection Act, chapter 19.86 RCW; (3) fraud or misrepresentation; (4) breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing; and (5) breach of contract.
