LOWENSTEIN, Chief Judge.

The state charged defendant Allen “Buddy” Howell with the class D felony of escape from confinement. Section 575.210, RSMo 1986. A jury found him guilty. The court determined him to be both a prior and a persistent offender, § 558.016, RSMo 1986, and sentenced him to imprisonment for five years, served consecutively with sentences previously imposed. Howell raises three points on appeal.
