Act 829 of 1989, the Arkansas Farm Mediation Act, was passed in the 1989 regular session of the General Assembly. It is codified as Ark. Code Ann. §§ 2-7-101 to -310 (Supp. 1989). Under section 4 of the Act, Ark. Code Ann. § 2-7-302 (Supp. 1989), a foreclosure or other similar proceeding which is brought against a farmer and involves $20,000.00 or more cannot be commenced without first satisfying specified mediation requirements.
