SANDSTROM, Justice.

[¶ 1] Donald Hopfauf appeals from a district court judgment affirming an order of the Workers Compensation Bureau forfeiting Hopfauf s future workers compensation benefits. Because we cannot determine whether the correct legal standard was applied by the *437administrative law judge (ALJ), we reverse and remand.

[¶ 2] Donald Hopfauf suffered a work-related injury to his neck and left shoulder on June 5, 1986, while working as a carpenter. The Bureau accepted Hopfaufs claim, and Hopfauf eventually began receiving total disability benefits from the Bureau.
