This is a civil action arising out of an investigation conducted by a university into alleged sexual misconduct. Jurisdiction is ■ based on diversity of citizenship.

Plaintiff “John Doe” was an undergraduate student at defendant Brandéis University. For nearly two years, he and another male Brandéis student, “J.C.,” were engaged in a romantic and sexual relationship.
