In an action, inter alia, to recover damages for false arrest and malicious prosecution, the plaintiff appeals, as limited by *734his brief, from so much of an order of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Hinds-Radix, J.), dated March 24, 2006, as granted those branches of the defendants’ cross motion which were pursuant to CPLR 3211 (a) (5) to dismiss, as time-barred, the fifth cause of action of the amended complaint insofar as asserted against the defendants City of New York and New York City Police Department and so much of the fifth cause of action as was predicated upon claims of false arrest…
