On August 8, 1896, a plat was filed in the -office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Dade county made by authority of Mary Brickell, William B. Brickpll, her husband, Julia D. Tuttle and the Fort Dallas Land Company, showing certain lands laid off into blocks, lots, streets -and avenues within the limits of what is now known as the city of Miami. This plat was prepared in June, 1896, by A. K. Knowlton, C.
