This suit was brought by appellee, Mrs. M. E. Barber, against appellant, to recover damages for the alleged breach by appellant of a promise to marry said appellee. Plaintiff’s original petition, which was filed on February 19, 1906, alleges in substance, “that she was unmarried and that on the 17th of December, 1905, the defendant, who was likewise unmarried, entered into an agreement to marry the plaintiff in the month of January, 1906, as soon as she could get ready; that on or about the 29th of December, 1905, the defendant broke his contract and refused and…
