This controversy relates to the validity of warehouse receipts issued by the American Warehousing Company upon the assets of the Erie Preserving Company, consisting of a large quantity of canned vegetables and fruits stored in the factories of the latter company at Irving, North Collins, and at Model City, in the state of New York. The material questions to be decided are: First, whether upon the elicited facts the different warehouse receipts indorsed by the defendant to Arbuthnot, Latham & Co., the New York County National Bank, Conrad Heinrich Donner, and Ladenburg,…
