This action was brought by plaintiff as administrator of the estate of his son, Raymond Jewell, a young married man, 22 years of age, who lost his life on May 16, 1917, through an automobile in which he was riding falling into the pit of a quarry belonging to defendant Michigan Limestone & Chemical Company at a point where it crossed an old highway in the defendant township of Rogers.
