The plaintiffs in this labor dispute are trustees of an association of various benefit funds established under the Labor-Management Relations Act of 1947 (LMRA), 29 U.S.C. §§ 141-67, 171-97, and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), as amended, 29 U.S.C. §§ 1001-1461, and maintained for the benefit of members of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters, AFL-CIO (the union).
