Mrs. Patricia Rush, a black woman, was employed by the McDonald’s Corporation at its Indianapolis regional office, as a word processing specialist, first part-time, and later full-time, from November 1985, until May 1988, when she was fired. She subsequently brought an action in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, against McDonald’s and two of her supervisors.
