MEMORANDUM DECISION

SUSAN V. KELLEY, Bankruptcy Judge.

The issue is the valuation of the Debtor’s 2001 Hyundai Elantra for purposes of redemption under § 722 of the Bankruptcy Code. Redemption allows a chapter 7 debt- or to obtain the release of a security interest on exempt personal property or personal property that has been abandoned from the bankruptcy estate. 11 U.S.C. § 722 (2004). In order to redeem, the debtor must pay the amount of the “allowed secured claim” to the creditor in a lump sum.
