In this tort action the plaintiff, as next of kin and duly appointed administrator of the estate of Gareth M. Ward, sued the defendants, University of the South, three of its officials, and Skip Baker, a gunsmith, for damages for the wrongful death of Gareth M. Ward, age 23, who was killed by a bullet fired accidentally from a pistol by Dan-forth Lucien Sawyer, Jr., age 19. The accident occurred in Sawyer’s room in one of the University’s dormitories.
