Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Albany County (Herrick, J.), rendered June 18, 2014, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crimes of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and criminal sale of a firearm in the third degree.

Following the shooting of two victims on April 15, 2013, the suspected shooter was apprehended and found to be in possession of ammunition, but not a firearm. Shortly thereafter, an informant purchased from defendant the defaced firearm that had been used during the shooting. As a result,…
