This is an appeal by the defendant from a judgment in favor of plaintiff entered on the verdict of a jury in an action for personal injuries.

Plaintiff and defendant had met on several occasions prior to the accident which is the subject of this action. On Sunday, June 9, 1935, defendant called at plaintiff’s home in San Francisco to take her for a ride in his automobile.
