A police surveillance operation at the intersection of Gallup Street and Gordon Avenue in Providence led to the conviction of the defendant, Geornando Vargas, for one count of delivery of a controlled substance. On appeal, the defendant argues that the trial justice erred by denying his motion for judgment of acquittal because the evidence presented by the state amounted to an improper pyramiding of inferences and therefore was legally insufficient to support the defendant’s conviction.
