Consistent with his pleas, the appellant was found guilty of five specifications of unauthorized absence, one specification of larceny of a privately-owned motor vehicle, and one specification of larceny of a pistol in violation of Articles 86 and 121, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), 10 U.S.C. §§ 886, 921. A military judge sentenced the appellant to confinement for 5 months, forfeiture of $400.00 pay per month for 5 months, and a bad-conduct discharge.
