This is an ejectment suit which was tried below on a stipulation of facts. The title and immediate possession of a small farm located in Knox County, Tennessee is at issue.

On December 21, 1940, IT. L. Parker and wife, M. V. Parker, conveyed the property in question to “Ralph Parker and at his death to his bodily heirs”. The deed is one of the printed forms which was printed by a local printing company. The quoted portion above is written in in longhand by pen and ink. The various blanks are filled in down to the printed portion which says that the premises are “free from all incumbrances”,…
