OPINION

This is an appeal from an action for declaratory judgment commenced by the family of Della Dockery to determine if Mrs. Dockery’s husband could be appointed her guardian with authority to remove her from a life-sustaining respirator. In the final decree, the chancellor appointed Mr. Dockery conservator for his wife and declared that Della Dockery’s treating physician had no authority to continue the use of the respirator, without the family’s consent, upon determining in accordance with professional standards of medicine in his community that: (1) there…
