COX, Judge:

Appellant was tried by a general court-martial made up of officer and enlisted members convened in Mainz, Federal Republic of Germany. Contrary to his pleas, he was convicted of attempted rape and indecent assault upon his 17-year-old stepdaughter, in violation of Articles 80 and 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 880 and 934, respectively. He was sentenced to 5 years’ confinement, total forfeitures, and a dishonorable discharge.
